9 Years of Shadows: new release date for the ‘metroidvania’ made in Mexico

It has been postponed several times and we spent the second half of 2022 waiting for its release, but we finally know for sure when we will be able to play this title. The Mexican indie team Halberd Studios and the distributor Freedom Games revealed when the ‘metroidvania’ is coming out 9 Years of Shadows and this will be the final release date.

In case you don’t know, in this title we control Europa, a brave warrior who, armed with a halberd, enters the Castle of Talos, a mysterious place from which a curse emerged that plunged the Earth into darkness. This title is described as a ‘musical adventure’ in which the melodies have great relevance. These were created by the famous composers Michiru Yamane (castlevania) and Norihiko Hibino (Metal Gear Solid ).

when does it finally come out 9 Years of Shadows?

The final release date of 9 Years of Shadows on Steam and Epic Games Store will be the Monday March 27, 2023. This was revealed in a new trailer unveiled during Esports ExtrasFanFest. You can see it below.

This game will also be coming to Nintendo Switch, but it doesn’t have a definite release date for that console. We only know that it will be available sometime in the third quarter of 2023.
