This week, FromSoftware released Elden Ring patch 1.04; mainly intended to correct some errors and balance weapons or spells most decompensated of the popular video game. However, fans have noticed that there are also a few changes not listed in Bandai Namco’s official statement—including, among several intentional things, one that doesn’t appear to be intentional at all: Malenia, Miquella leafis even stronger than it was before.
The toughest boss in the game, who gave birth to the legend of Let Me Solo Her, has always had an ugly habit of heal when hit to the player; only after this latest update you no longer even need to meet that requirement. Even if you dodge his swift sword slashes, his health will still slowly restore as he tries to hit you.
Even Klen Tsuboi, the user who carries our legendary two-sword warrior, comments on Youtube that the Malenia of patch 1.04 it’s a nightmare” between laughs. The video that accompanies the comment ends in a victory in his favor, mind you, but it extends to the 15 minutes; compared to 9 minutes and 11 seconds that the previous one lasted. Since LMSH doesn’t have a shield or viable blocking techniques, he can only roll, giving away a good portion of his health bar to his opponent.
His followers joke about it, theorizing that Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team have upgraded the character so that he has any chance of fighting LMSH. Bandai Namco has not yet commented on this, but considering that he is a quite suspicious behavior on the part of Malenia, the most normal thing is that it will be rectified in the near future. Meanwhile, Elden Ring users are celebrating that patch 1.04 substantially buffed colossal weapons that had fallen substantially behind magic weapons and dexterity.
