A bunch of Marvel projects just suffered huge delays
Several major Marvel projects have been affected by considerable delays, while Disney tries to rearrange its calendar of premieres.
As reported by Variety, these films include: Captain America: Brave New Worldwhich will now be released on July 26, 2024when previously it was scheduled for May 3, 2024, thunderbolts has been delayed to December 20, 2024, Blade moves to February 14, 2025 and the new Fantastic Four movie opens on May 2, 2025.
The biggest hits go to the Avengers movies. Avengers: Kang Dynasty is pushed back a whole year, from May 2, 2025 to May 1, 2026. At the same time, Avengers: Secret Wars has also been pushed back a year, moving from May 1, 2026 to May 7, 2027. But not everything has been delayed, since Deadpool 3 has passed from November 2024 to May 3, 2024.
According to Variety, the production delays and the ongoing writers’ strike are two of the main reasons why Marvel has decided to delay so many of their upcoming projects. With the break in filming on Blade and Thunderbolts, this has caused a ripple effect throughout the studio. It’s not just the Marvel movies that have suffered from delays, as the upcoming Avatar projects have also been delayed by over a year.
