Aaron Greenberg denies Hi-Fi Rush had poor sales
One of the pleasant surprises this year has undoubtedly been the great action title Hi Fi Rush of Tango Gameworks. The game Hack & Slash was met with widespread acclaim, though recent reports seen on Reddit suggested that commercially, the game hadn’t fared as well. But while it has been claimed that the rhythm-action title fell short of commercial expectations for Microsoft, it seems that it may not have been entirely accurate.
In response to such claims, Xbox Game Marketing Vice President Aaron Greenberg recently took to Twitter and said that Microsoft “couldn’t be happier” with what it’s bringing. Hi Fi Rush has done, and that the company considers it a success “on all key measures and expectations.”
“Hi-Fi Rush was a huge success for us and our players in all key metrics and expectations. We couldn’t be happier with what the Tango Gameworks team delivered with this surprise release.”
Hi Fi Rush is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC. You can read our review at this link.
What exactly determines success for an Xbox game these days?
Hi-Fi Rush afaik has no physical version, no marketing, no multiplayer…
If Xbox is pressing ZeniMax to deliver sales of its games, maybe it shouldn’t put so much emphasis on Xbox Game Pass? What’s the goal here?
