Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has everything – just no guts
- Genre: Action RPG
- Developer: Ubisoft
- Initial release: November 12, 2020
That’s what it’s about: In the role of Viking Eivor (choice of male or female) we leave the year 873 AD. the icy homeland of Norway to find a new home in England for the raven clan. Once there, however, we get to deal with King Alfred and other adversaries.
And even if the classic assassins didn’t exist at that time, we meet members of the hidden ones, the predecessors of the assassins. Norse mythology also plays a role, but we don’t want to reveal more at this point.
Here’s how it plays: As a Viking, Eivor is more brutal and offensive than other assassins. In the usual third-person view and thanks to upgradeable abilities and skills, this is still a lot of fun while we fight and climb through the huge and really pretty open world. In addition to the many quests in which we also have to make decisions, there are still collectibles and side activities, such as the in-game game Örlög, waiting for us.
That’s why AC Valhalla is more worthwhile now than ever
Since its release in November 2020, Ubisoft has constantly expanded the title. This not only means the paid DLCs Wrath of the Druids, The Siege of Paris and The Mark of Ragnarok, but also several free content updates. These include, for example, the master challenges as a new game mode, a crossover with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and The Last Chapter, the last quest that tells the end of Eivor.
In addition, with the latest patch, the big bugs and technical problems are history. An open world game as huge as AC Valhalla still doesn’t run completely flawlessly, but it has never been so technically clean and at the same time so complete in terms of content.
So if you’ve been waiting for the best and cheapest moment to catch up on the Viking adventure – now it could be here for you.
