About time and as part of an event in Warzone 2.0, Activision has revealed the official gameplay of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III as a look at the campaEsports Extrasmode that we will be playing very soon.

Historically, the franchise is almost always the best-selling game each year and Modern Warfare 2 was a huge highlight for the series, breaking records for the longest-running series. That being said, it was assumed that we would have to wait at least three years for the next Modern Warfare game, as there is no precedent for releasing back-to-back games in a sub-franchise with Call of Duty. However, that changes this year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III has been properly revealed now after weeks of teasers. Task Force 141 returns, led once again by Captain Price. This time, they will face off against Makarov, a Russian ultra-nationalist bent on wreaking havoc on the world. The character made his debut in the original Modern Warfare trilogy and is seen as one of the franchise’s best villains. It’s unclear how long they’ll keep Makarov around this time around, as they’ve been killing villains left and right in the new rebooted Modern Warfare series.

It sounds like they’ll be talking about some of the beats from the original trilogy with things like No Russian, but it remains to be seen how it all pans out. The new series has largely moved away from directly copying the stories from the original games. Either way, it looks like Task Force 141 really may have found a new story.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be released on November 10.
