AMD improves Windows tasking on Ryzen 7000X3D with this driver
In recent months we have been able to see the launch of new hardware from AMD, NVIDIA and Intel. From the Ryzen 7000 to the Intel Core 13, through the AMD RX 7000, the RTX 40 and the Intel Arc. The last thing we have seen has been the Ryzen 7000X3D dedicated for gaming and precisely to welcome these, BIOS and AGESA updates have arrived. Now would come to us an update of drivers for the AMD chipsets What would you offer us? support for AMD Ryzen 7000X3D and 7045HX for laptops, among other improvements.
Now that the new ones have arrived Ryzen 7000X3D, we have been able to see what they are capable of in games. Although it is true that they have not met the expectations of some users thinking that there would be greater differences, we cannot deny that we are facing the best AMD gaming CPUs. In fact, from the energy point of view, this is where they stand out the most, since consume significantly less than an i9-13900K with similar performance. In any case, some inconsistencies have been observed, since there are games where there is hardly a difference with a Ryzen 5800X3D or a Ryzen 7000X without 3D V-Cache.

As usual, with the launch of a new range of processors, BIOS, AGESA and Chipset updates usually arrive. Since the first two are already available on virtually all motherboard brands, the chipset drivers were missing. Under the name of AMD Ryzen Chipset Driver 5.02.19.2221 we have some new drivers that will provide us medium for the AMD Ryzen 7000X3D, that is, the 7950X3D, 7900X3D and future 7800X3D.
We also see it coming to “desktop” Dragon Range processors, a misspelling considering the 7045HX is for laptops. Although they only highlight the support and correction of bugs, we have a series of improvements such as stability improvements on USB4support for 256 devices with AMD MicroPEP and fix a problem of BSOD when the USB4CM was involved during the system hibernation (S4).
The drivers will improve the gaming performance of the Ryzen 7000X3D
The truth is that AMD has been very concise with the details, there is hardly any information added on the website where the drivers are announced. However, we can find more data on these on websites like Videocardz, where they confirm that there are performance improvements. And it is that, it turns out that we have a couple of new additions in these chipset drivers that improve performance in games and programs of the Ryzen 7000X3D with asymmetric cache. Beginning with AMD 3D V-Cache Performance Optimizer Driverit will automatically change the windows preferences to use the cores of the CCX0 with 3D V-Cache when it is optimal.
On the other hand, it will use the cores of the CCX1 when we need higher frequency. Finally, we will have AMD PPM Provisioning File Driver, which will allow you to set the CCX that has the best performance in games and stay with that, instead of dynamically switching between the two. This will basically allow us improve gaming performance with the AMD Ryzen 7950X3D, 7900X3D and 7800X3D. At least this is the theory, because we will have to see in benchmarks and games the differences between the previous and the new driver compatible with motherboards. 300, 400, 500 and 600 series.
