Once you get your bearings though, Journey to the Savage Planet is a very fun game to play, with a handful of skills and tools that make navigating ARY-26 a real joy. The exploration has a metroidvania point in which backtracking gains weight and will lead us to explore previously inaccessible areas thanks to the new tools and abilities that we are getting, all guided by a series of main missions that guide us through the adventure.

We will get all these abilities and improvements after discovering the pertinent materials and printing them on our spaceship, so activating the fast travel portals scattered around the planet is an obligation if we want to come and go from our ship to the different points that we have discovered At this point, we have to tell you that do not expect a huge planet with dozens of travel points, ARY-26 is big enough for the story that occupies the title, but it is not No Man’s Sky.

Yes indeed, Journey to the Savage Planet Employee of the Month Edition includes Hot Garbage DLCso at least we can enjoy more content than we had in the original version of the game, something that those who already have the game will appreciate, since this update comes for free.

So aren’t we alone on the planet?

The variety of enemies that we will face is not very large, but again, it is varied enough so that we do not have the feeling of killing the same thing all the time, also many of the enemy species that we find have stronger variants for so we will have to take different strategies to face them, as well as the “bosses” of the area, much stronger enemies and with specific combat mechanics. Here is one of the points where this update takes center stage, giving fluidity and quality to the impressive environment. It is a delight to look at any part of the game or stay to observe one of the animals that we find.

The colors, the designs of the enemies and the plants… everything is very careful and detailed in Journey to the Savage Planet, even more so with this update that allows us to see ARY-26 in 4K, with improved photo mode and with performance and quality modes, which allow us to enjoy the experience as we like. This new generation update has arrived to improve practically everything that could be improved with respect to the previous generation version.

The sound immerses us fully in ARY-26

Entering the sound section, we are facing another of the careful points of the game. Although the music is not the protagonist at any time in the game, it is up to the task all the time, changing intensity or melody depending on the situation or the place where we are. In the same way, each animal or enemy in ARY-26 has its characteristic sound, so the union of all the elements leaves a very credible and pleasant ambient sound.

It is a pity that the few videos and moments in which there are conversations are not dubbed into Spanish, but a great translation leaves us with some subtitles that do not let us miss a single game data. However, as we have said before, the set that Journey to the Savage Planet: Employee of the Month Edition leaves us is, to say the least, outstanding.

While it is true that some aspects such as the minimap theme could have been improved, we cannot do anything other than recommend this title, which also adds the Hot Garbage DLC for a complete experience. Considering that the update is free for all those who already own the game, there is no excuse to give this adventure a chance.
