Atomic Heart increases its requirements for PC before launch
Atomic Heart is one of those games that tries to offer something different, not so much because of the genre, but because of the world it represents and its history. Graphically it looks “brutal”, with scenes that border on visual perfection, so that the game seems really demanding. To such an extent will that demand go that Mundfish has had to update its system requirements for PC before its launch. What are these new requirements for Atomic Heart?
It will be more demanding, there is no doubt about that, the question is how much more it will be. Luckily, we have the answer and well, everything has gone up a lot, like prices in general. The good thing is that we will get a better idea of what we can expect from this very Bioshock title.
Atomic Heart, new requirements for PC and a new gameplay
It will require a lot more equipment and will only be able to move in high resolutions by those with the best hardware, and not at high FPS. This game comes to put current graphics cards, processors and memories in check, because although it raises the bar visually, the jump in requirements does not seem to really justify it.
The first thing we have to be clear about is that Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 are no longer an option to play it, they have been eliminated at the stroke of a pen. Now it will have to be Windows 10 or Windows 11 due to new hardware requirements for Atomic Heart.
And it seems that DirectX 11 has been eliminated and they have only left DirectX 12 to offer the best compatibility with Ray Tracing without being Dual API as such, another reason to abandon the two logically named OS. What may surprise the most is that no less than 22 GB of space occupied by the game has gone, to 90 GB required. The company argues that in recent development times it was decided to make the decision to guarantee larger and quality textures.
With that said, let’s look at the old requirements before discussing the rest of the new ones.

As we can see, the hardware disparity is more than evident, taking into account that we always talk about 1080p and 30 FPS minimums, and 1080p and 60 FPS recommended, the processors that are requested and above all, the graphics cards that are require represent a more than large jump, about 40% number up or number down.
We understand that for 4K we would already have to use a very high-end GPU within the RTX 30 or RX 6000, and to scale above 60 FPS we have to go to the latest from NVIDIA and AMD, always with High or Ultra settings. , of course. Finally, the game can already be reserved, its launch being the 23 of this month of February.
