Babylon’s Fall will no longer be playable from now on
When you think of exclusive games from sony, generally, we think of titles whose quality is undeniable. However, that’s not always the case as less than a year after its release, a PS4 and PS5 exclusive officially wraps up today. We talk about the infamous Babylon’s Fall, an exclusive title for PS4 and PS5, which aimed very high and fell very short. As of this February 27, the game will close its servers. News of the game’s closure was first broadcast on September 13, 2022.
As noted by the official announcement at the time, the game will be taken offline and will no longer be playable. In addition, all game data on the servers has been removed. Now that the game has been shut down, it’s unlikely it will ever be revived. There have been some examples of games crashing and then coming back, but this is very rare and requires unique circumstances.
For those who don’t know: Babylon’s Fall was released worldwide on March 3, 2022, via PlatinumGames and Square Enix and across PC, PS4, and PS5. It’s somewhat surprising, given the background of the developer Bayonetta and NieR Automata.
The game currently sits at 41 on Metacritic, making it the third lowest rated game of 2022. By the standards of everyone involved in its production and release, it was a massive critical flop. And unsurprisingly, not many bought the game, and very quickly virtually no one was playing it, which brings us to today, the end of the road for the disappointing PlayStation console exclusive.
