You are probably not aware of what the plan for Xbox Game Pass: Friends & Family was. This is an initiative by Xbox to create an alternative to the Game Pass subscription in which 5 people join the same plan for a special price. At the moment, this was only available in 2 countries, Ireland and Colombia; but it was also experienced in others such as Chile or Norway.
For those who were enjoying this spectacular plan, we have bad news for you. According to the official Xbox website, this program has ended in all regions temporarily while they create an offer that can be launched globally.
The Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family pre-program will end on August 15, 2023 as we review what we’ve learned over the past few months and investigate how to create an offer that we can launch around the world.
If you were a user of this subscription, the following information interests you
- As of July 14, 2023: Current primary and secondary members will receive detailed information about this change via email.
- As of July 17, 2023: Primary account owners will no longer be able to add new members to their shared subscription.
- August 15, 2023: Existing subscriptions will end and Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family will no longer be available.
- As of August 15, 2023: We’ll be sending Xbox Game Pass Ultimate codes as a thank you for participating in our preview program (both primary and secondary members) based on the remaining time of the primary account holder, as described in the table below.
This means that as of today these subscriptions will be cancelled, completely losing access to the games. But this is not a closure to the luck of the players, because for those of us who were users, we will be given a thank you code with an offer to continue enjoying the service. This implies that, starting tomorrow you will have to check your email to renew your subscription according to the gift that Xbox gives you.

At the moment there is no more information about Xbox Game Pass: Friends & Family. A few weeks ago we learned of an offer for this service in the United States, but it has never been made official. So this service will come back at some point and be rolled out globally.
