Karlach becomes really strong with this weapon.
In the world of Baldur’s Gate 3, it’s easy to overlook things. Aside from the main missions, there are secrets hidden in every nook and cranny that you can sometimes only discover if you are very attentive and have the right skills. This also includes a really powerful Act 3 weapon that is hidden in a hidden area. We highly recommend you grab her as she fits perfectly with one of our suggested companion builds.
Spoiler warning: We’ll spoil an NPC interaction and a secret area here, but keep it as vague as possible.
This is the legendary weapon
It’s all about this: The Nyrulna Trident is a legendary weapon that is perfect for the Karlach barbarian build, which we recommend to you in the following guide:
The weapon is very good in terms of damage and types of damage and, thanks to the zephyr connection, always returns to the wearer’s hand. You can’t be forced to drop them either. In terms of damage, Nyrulna combines D8 piercing damage, 2 points of acid damage, and D6 sonic damage.
Here you can take a look at the whole thing in detail.
If that’s not enough for you: The trident also has a +3 enchantment and increases the movement rate by three meters. It also illuminates the surrounding area.
This is how you grab Nyrulna
You can get the weapon in Act 3 from a particularly difficult NPC, who can also cause completely different incidents. We’re talking about the circus genie named Akabi, who spins the wheel of fortune. In order to be transported into the hidden area by him, you have to do it exactly right.
The nasty djinn has something against you winning the main prize and is cheating with the magician’s hand spell. You have to get that out of him first. To do this you have to steal the “Gie Ring” from him. This works as usual with villains and thieves’ tools and is made even easier with the usual tools, for example by making yourself invisible.
Now Akabi can no longer cheat with the spell. This gives you the opportunity to spin the wheel yourself (select the option in the dialog) and win the main prize; actually. The Djinn doesn’t really begrudge you victory. An argument arises in which you can insult him as a failure.

Baldur’s Gate 3 – You have to see this funny video for the launch of the RPG
This makes Akabi so angry that he magicks you away – but exactly to the place of your desire, in the secret area. In Dinoland you can either proceed quietly or fight your way through. In any case, at the end the chest containing Nyrulna beckons. But it’s not that easy to open because you still have to pass the dexterity test (20).
Then you have the legendary trident in your hands and can also travel back directly using the portal.
Have you already met Akabi and can you use the trident for Karlach?
