Baldur’s Gate 3 is coming to Xbox Series when they fix an issue with local co-op
Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC on August 31, Larian Studios confirmed during the latest State of Play. And on Xbox Series? The study has confirmed that it is not a matter of exclusives on consoles and that the RPG could arrive but later. The reason: a technical issue with split screen mode on Xbox Series.
“We’re seeing a lot of interpretations of what that means. [su ausencia, por el momento, en Xbox] and we want to clear it up. We had an Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 It’s been up and running for a while, but we’ve run into some technical issues while developing the release that prevent us from announcing it for sure until we find the right fix, specifically, we haven’t been able to get split screen co-op to work to the same standard [de calidad] on Xbox Series X and Series Swhich for us is a requirement”, clarifies the team.
“There is no exclusivity on the platform that prevents us from launching Baldur’s Gate 3 on Xbox the same day [que en otras plataformas] if possible. If we announce the game on more platforms, we want to make sure that each version meets our standard and expectations.”
Parity between the two Xbox Series
Split screen gaming is demanding and often needs some optimizations to run stable. In the case of Halo Infinite For example, it was announced and then discarded after denying its cut; the community found a way to make it work on Xbox Series but performance was poor on Xbox One.
Baldur’s Gate 3 It’s been in early access for a while now, only available on computers. At Vandal we have been able to test it on several occasions, the last being a year after its original launch, when it received a major content update. At that time we told you in our impressions that “Larian’s work levels up with this new update and continues on the right track.”
