Update February 25 – What about the Xbox version? The Larian Studios community manager has now reported on Reddit and given the all-clear: An Xbox version of Baldur’s Gate 3 is in the works, but the team is currently still struggling with technical difficulties, which particularly affect the co-op. Currently, the team doesn’t feel ready to announce the game for Xbox and needs a little more time.
It was already known that the role-playing game Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on August 31 for the PC. However, during yesterday’s State of Play there was a new trailer that revealed that the title will also land on the PlayStation 5 at the same time. Those who choose the Collector’s Edition can also get started earlier.
PS5 release is known, what about the Xbox?
On the PC, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been in Early Access for a long time and has been well received. Now we know that the full release of the game will be accompanied by the PS5 version.

Now you’re probably wondering if the Xbox Series X/S will go away empty-handed. Swen Vincke, founder of the Larian Studios development team behind the RPG, responded to fans’ concerns with a tweet, stating:
Calm down. We still don’t play the exclusivity game.

Of course, we don’t yet know exactly what that means for the Xbox version, but at least the statement gives reason to hope that we’ll find out more soon. At least it sounds like there isn’t just one console version for PS5.
Collector’s Edition lets you get started earlier
With the Collector’s Edition, which you can already pre-order, you can also embark on your adventure on PC or PS5 before the official release. It lets you play 72 hours earlier, on August 28th.
However, the collector’s edition costs 260 euros. Along with the early game start, it features some physical goodies, like a 10-inch Mind Flayer vs. Drow battle diorama, a 160-page hardcover artbook, and more in a collector’s box.
Are you still hoping for an Xbox version or are you playing on the other platforms? And is the Collector’s Edition an option for you?
