Can the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti finally perform like an RTX 3070 Ti?
From Chiphell’s Chinese forum, the first performance tests of the probably GeForce RTX 4060 Ti based on the graphics chip NVIDIA AD106 complete. We assume that it is this GPU because, theoretically, only the RTX 4060 Ti will arrive in the coming weeks. The ‘non-Ti’ GeForce RTX 4060 is expected to arrive sometime in the third quarter of this year. These would reach the 2.80GHz, thus being the RTX 40 chip that reaches the highest frequencies. These high frequencies rule out that it is an option for laptops.
Of course, off paper, in reliable evidence like 3DMarkspecifically we know that, depending on the tests, it can be up to 10% slower than the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti, or up to 3% faster in the best case. Obviously, thanks to the improvements of a new architectural generation, in terms of ray tracing testsperformance improvement is up to 25%.
The great improvement reaches the level of energy consumption
New architecture and, even more important, manufacturing process of TSMC in front of Samsung Foundry. The actual energy consumption becomes up to 180W. This represents 27% less compared to the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. Compared to its predecessor, this one has a TGP of 200W.
This GPU is designed to enjoy 1080p games at maximum quality with a high framerate, or 1440p smoothly.
