In an interview with GQ, Chris Evans reveals that he has no intentions of reprising the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the near future. Although he doesn’t rule out a possible return at some point, Evans emphasizes that he has no plans to quickly join the Avengers in the Marvel Universe.
Evans expresses gratitude for the wonderful experience he had playing the iconic superhero, but is also cautious about it. He takes pride in his work and doesn’t want to compromise the integrity of the character or disappoint fans if a return doesn’t live up to expectations or doesn’t feel authentic and is just a quick cash grab. He therefore has no plans to return in the near future.
The actor also shares his desire to act less in general, as he looks to explore other interests in the next stage of his life. Although he acknowledges that he has not reached the top of the mountain in his career and does not have awards like an Oscar, he feels satisfied with what he has achieved so far.
Despite his decision to step away from the MCU, Evans shows gratitude for the success he had as Captain America, as it has given him the opportunity to take a breather and explore new opportunities. He recognizes that life is unpredictable and values the freedom of being able to stop and take different paths in the future.
