Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 – 16 classic maps return
Where does the information come from? While the CoD community was still preparing for Modern Warfare 3’s big reveal event, there was suddenly surprising news that caused a stir.
Through a marketing initiative by Activision and Sledgehammer (via CharlieIntel) it was confirmed that all 16 remastered maps from 2009’s iconic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be available in the upcoming Modern Warfare 3.
All of the maps have been reworked and offer new modes and gameply features. For many fans of the shooter series, these maps are among their favorites.
These are the remastered 16 maps from Modern Warfare 2, making a comeback in classic 6v6 multiplayer:
- Afghan
- Derail
- Estate
- favela
- high rise
- invasion
- Karachi
- Quarry
- rundown
- Rust
- Scrapyard
- Skidrow
- subbase

- waste land
Map voting is also making a comeback, something many players have been asking for for years. You can then vote by majority on which map you play next.
You can also look forward to zombie fun and Ground War maps. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 there will be a huge zombie map. You can team up with other teams to survive and uncover missions and secrets.
