The fourth season for MW2 and Warzone 2 started on June 14, 2023.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 started the next season in mid-June, which as usual brings with it a lot of new content and adjustments. Here you can find out everything you need to know about the start. We will also accompany the launch with a live ticker.

Similar picture on Xbox Series X: Joining matches can take a few moments longer – in both MW2 multiplayer and Warzone 2 – but we haven’t noticed any major issues.

Our first time joining a Warzone match went without major complications, although we did have to wait a little longer than usual.

There have been isolated reports of players having trouble downloading the Warzone 2 Pack after updating to Season 4. The download worked on our consoles.

A restart helped. Now loading the Season 4 update, the size for all packs is on Xbox Series X 32.76GB.

The download of Season 4 on our Xbox Series X is currently spinning. The update is displayed but hangs at 0.0%. Colleague Chris is already in the menu on the PS5 thanks to the preload and is examining the challenges and Battle Pass content.

Infinity Ward released the official patch notes for Season 4 just before launch. Whew, prepare to scroll for aaaaaaaaay.

Not only ModernWarzone was able to spend a few rounds with the Season 4 content in advance, content creator IceManIsaac also had this opportunity. And his impressions are very positive, he particularly likes the increased health and changes to the Strongholds mode. You can see his impressions with many gameplay scenes here:

Many are looking forward to the launch of Season 4, but there are already potential excitement. Some fans fear, among other things, that the already introduced in Season 3 and enormously strong FTAC Siege weapon could get an upgrade again in the new season – in which it can be used in Akimbo, i.e. in both hands. In any case, a corresponding scene can be seen in the teaser trailer. This would make the gun unnaturally powerful and have a clear impact on the weapon meta.

The new Tempus Razorback should, on the other hand, make the Assault Rifle fans among you happy. The developers describe it as an “all-rounder” with a fast firing rate and good damage value. If you want to unlock them, you have to Sector D13 achieve in the Season 4 Battle Pass.

Those of you who like to play SMGs in MW2 or Warzone 2 should probably wonder about the ISO 45 Making a comeback in Season 4 – it was already in Modern Warfare 2019 and Warzone 1. It has a higher damage value than other weapons in its class, but is also less accurate.
It is now also known how you unlock them, namely via the Sector D19 of the Battle Pass.

A special mechanism of the Vondel map – which, by the way, is currently clearly ahead in our survey – is the dynamic fog. Apparently, it can really happen randomly and then make the visibility conditions on parts of the map extremely difficult. We’re curious to see how this actually works, it sounds cool anyway.

It now takes less than 4 hours to get started with Season 4 in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. A preload for Xbox consoles and PC has not yet surfaced, but the fan report has ModernWarzone, who was apparently able to play a round in Vondel beforehand. In it he confirms the 150 HP and thus the life point adjustment.

Still not sure if you want to play Season 4? Maybe you guys can Cthulhu or Crash Bandicoot convince. They don’t come into play as operators – how cool would that be? – but in the form of separately available and chargeable cosmetics/bundles:
- Crash Bundle ($12): Various weapon variants with a crash theme, cosmetic items, etc.
- Cthulhu Bundle ($20): “Deep Lord” operator skin, blueprints for an SMG and a sniper rifle, skin for a vehicle etc.

There is still no indication as to whether and when the preload for Season 4 will also start on the Xbox consoles and the PC. We wouldn’t count on it. When Season 3 started in April, the pre-download was only available on the PS5, all other platforms were only served in time for the launch date.

CoD Warzone 2 shows the new map from Season 4 for the first time

According to current rumors, one of the significant changes of Season 4 is the adjustment of “default health” in Warzone matches. Because it will from 100 to 150 boosted, so with a completely full protective vest you have a whopping 300 life points. Of course, that should have a big impact on the time-to-kill, about which there have always been complaints.
However, this change has not yet been officially confirmed.
