Corsair MP600 PRO NH M.2 NVMe SSD Review

High-speed storage options are part of the huge key to the performance of our PC (or consoles in some cases) in addition to the fact that nowadays any video game weighs a lot. On this occasion our friends at Corsair have sent us the 2Tb MP600 PRO NH.

The technology NVMe it’s evolved in a big way, for those of you who don’t know NVMe stands for Non-Volatile Memory Express, and refers to the way data moves, rather than the shape of the drive itself.

The main way it differs from the existing SATA standard is that it relies on your motherboard’s PCIe interface for noticeably faster data transfer speeds than SATA is capable of. Depending on your NVMe drive manufacturer, you may see speeds up to five to six times faster than a SATA-based equivalent.

This time we have a high-speed one that promises to give us the best possible experience both in the speed of reading and writing data. Before we continue, let’s know a tip about the product specifications and what comes inside the box:

Like all Corsair products, this one comes in a fairly small box with the typical yellow color that has always caught our attention. The packaging keeps the SSD in a fairly secure and compact way, from what you can see in the unboxing below it is quite fine in color and has excellent temperature management.

Although my Z790 Valkyrie Motherboard comes with integrated temperature protectors in the PCIe that we connect to the M.2, it makes it maintain an excellent temperature when used.

An interesting fact is that we are offered 1.6 million hours of use, many may find that it is a short or limited time in some ways, but if we review the status of my Force MP150 that I reviewed a few years ago still to date it is in 79% health, with a total of 8 thousand hours of intense use.

The health percentage does not measure performance, but it does make it clear that in a few more years it will not be very useful, but if we analyze it well, it will have served a total of almost 4 years of use by the time it is considered to change, making it this is a good purchase option.

That M.2 has extremely fast technology, PCIe Gen 4 makes any other M.2 SSD a thing of the past, I mean literally no matter how big the file is, it can be transferred very fast internally plus it the read/write process is extremely fast.

A normal M.2 SSD would have a reading speed practically half that specified above and we can see how a file that weighs around 100Gb can be passed in 5 minutes. You can achieve file copy speeds of up to 1.80Gb/s, something a conventional M.2 SSD couldn’t easily achieve, but the MP600 makes it a reality.

This MP600 PRO NH M.2 NVMe SSD comes in various flavors for our tastes. We go from 500Gb to a total of 8Tb of storage. Thus turning this product into something very affordable for all types of pockets without leaving aside the amazing performance that it has.

As for the performance in other benchmark programs, we have the comparison of the read / write for files ranging from 1gb to 10 Gb to know exactly the transfer range.

An interesting fact when it comes to installing and not being detected by your PC, this is because you need to format the new installed volume and give it the style you want, since in some cases it is the first use it receives. We just have to go to the option to create and format disks, there we will see all the partitions that we have available and from there we can start the process to activate the recently installed storage. The image below is an example of what it looks like:

In conclusion

The Corsair MP600 PRO NH is relatively one of the fastest storage options I’ve seen so far, although its price may be considered high for some people, you can tell from the packaging that the quality is extremely good. Like any other M.2, the temperature factor influences only a little but in the same way the temperatures remain quite stable. This incredible speed thanks to the PCIe4 (Gen 4) that it has makes reading and writing extremely fast, making this storage the best option for those who want to build a next-generation Gamer PC. Regardless of the space, this new technology has come a long way since I first used M.2 storage. This review was made with hardware provided by Corsair.
