And to this we must add that we can use magic indiscriminately or special physical attacks, as long as we have a full inventory of objects (something that is not complicated) or that the OMD is on our side.

However, this is not the worst at the playable level of Crisis Core. Far from finding ourselves before an HD update of the title, something very common in the franchise in recent years, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion offers us an almost complete facelift compared to the original title, offering a finish very similar to that seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

However, the game is not without certain “tackiness” in this regard. The most outstanding, and incomprehensible, is that, especially at the beginning of the adventure, the kinematics that we will see will be exactly the same as we saw in the PSP version. This causes us to see videos that are not only at a much lower resolution than the game, but we also see the old models of the title characters, something that greatly clashes in development, especially when the title runs at 4K and 60 fps.

Something similar happens at the level of animations. Although the visual section has completely changed, both in character models and in textures of settings, enemies, etc. Many of the animations are the same as what we saw in the original game, and while it might be funny, seeing Zack doing squats while you wait for a dialogue to finish is something that should have been a thing of the past.

At the sound level, Crisis Core offers us voices in English and Japanese, with the texts fully translated into Spanish. As we have already mentioned, in this title some of the texts of the original work have been improved, offering dialogues that make more sense with what is shown on the screen, and with what will happen in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a beautifully finished remaster of the original game. In addition to giving the title an (almost) complete facelift, it adds certain improvements to the playable level that make the experience more enjoyable than the original game. This makes it the best possible way to enjoy the prequel to Final Fantasy VII.

Nevertheless, not without problems, such as the excessive importance of the OMD system in certain confrontations, or a structure that is difficult to see and support today in a desktop game.
