Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty – All information about the big story extension
With Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, CD Projekt wants to expand the main game with a large addon in the coming months. So that you are always up to date with regard to the first and only story expansion, we want to summarize all the official facts for you here in the article.
When is Phantom Liberty coming out?
An exact release date has not yet been announced. However, according to CD Projekt, Phantom Liberty still 2023 appear.
What platforms will Phantom Liberty be released for?
You can open the extension PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC play. Phantom Liberty was also originally announced for Google Stadia, but Google’s streaming service was discontinued in January 2023.
Is the addon still coming out for PS4 and Xbox One? Unfortunately, we have bad news for you here. Like some update content for Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.5 and patch 1.6, the addon is no longer being developed for the last gen.

How much does Phantom Liberty cost?
Unlike the free DLCs that have made their way into the action RPG in recent updates, you have to buy the addon separately. The price is not yet known.
For comparison: The two expansions for The Witcher 3 cost 9.99 euros (Hearts of Stone) and 19.99 euros (Blood and Wine) when they were released.
What is already known about the story?
It is known that we will once again slip into the role of main character V and a Spy contract for the government (NUSA) to do. Political power games are at the core of Phantom Liberty’s plot. As in the main game, Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves) will also play an important part in the expansion.
From that, we get it with one fresh cast of characters to do, two of which we have already been able to get to know:
- Solomon Reed (Idris Elba): An allied FIA government agent
- Ash (Sasha Grey): Hosts new radio station 89.7 Growl FM
Where is Phantom Liberty set? Night City again. However, the action is set to take place in a new part of the city, believed to be the Pacifica Combat Zone, which also includes the Dogtown area.

What content is still new?
As CD Projekt reveals on the official website, new skills, new weapons and new cyberware for V will come into play with the addon. In the trailer, we could also see that a new finisher will be unlocked for the Mantis Blades.
What’s next for Cyberpunk 2077 after the addon?
Contrary to initial announcements, Phantom Liberty will remain the only addon for Cyberpunk 2077. The series doesn’t end there, however, as we already know that a sequel to the open world game is being worked on under the code name “Orion”.
