CD Projekt RED announced just a few days ago the projects that its development teams will be working on over the next few years. In addition to the new trilogy of The Witcher, the Polish studio has formed a new team in the United States that will be in charge of working on Project Onion, the code name of the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. Developing a blockbuster with these characteristics is no small feat and requires a great team made up of some of the best talent in the industry. Therefore, we are not surprised that Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of the company, has revealed that the sequel to the action role-playing video game require between 350 and 500 developers.
“The North American studio -CD Projekt RED North America- will be made up of teams that will work from Boston and the team that will work from Vancouver. The project will also have the support of developers from Poland“, comments Nielubowicz in a recent call for investors. “In terms of the total workforce required for a production of this type, I think the best reference is Cyberpunk 2077, our most recent release and a good reference point when thinking about the development template and future projects of this scale. I think it’s safe to assume 350-500 developers will be needed.”
