Destiny 2 Season 20 Will Focus On Balancing Weapons For PvE
Destiny 2 Season 20 is right around the corner, ushering in the next chapter of the new expansion called Lightfall.
The upcoming expansion will be one of Bungie’s biggest to date, as the Guardians will travel to Neomuna and plunge into Darkness in preparation for the arrival of The Witness and Shadow Legion.
Speaking of preparation, Season 19 has seen Bungie prepare the player base for what comes next. The last few months have been filled with communication about changes to the in-game economy and much more.
Bungie isn’t quite done yet, as the developer shares an idea of what’s changing with much of the weapon tuning focusing on Heavy Weapons in PvE, some Kinetic weapons, and adding subclass verbs to various Exotic Weapons.
Season 20 Weapons Tuning Preview:
⬆ Machine Guns, most Kinetic weapons, Heavy Grenade Launchers
↔ Linear Fusion Rifles, Exotic Weapons

Some of the big areas involve Linear Fusion Rifles coming back to reality with 15% reduced damage to champions, minibosses, bosses, and vehicles, though Sleeper Simulant and Queenbreaker are unaffected, with the latter also getting a buff. Arc 3.0 blind for your shot.
Machine guns will see around a 10% damage increase, and grenade launchers are getting overlooked in most of their categories, as this class of weapons has been failing for some time.
