Pokemon Detective Pikachu was one of the most successful video game adaptations of all time, but whether the sequel that was announced some time ago will ever be implemented is currently in the stars. The same applies to the video game template: Already in 2019 was a sequel to the 3DS game Detective Pikachu announced to be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Since then, however, the project has become very quiet. To date, fans have not seen any footage from the game.
Now a hint has surfaced that Detective Pikachu 2 is actually still in the making – and is apparently about to be published. The LinkedIn profile of Jonathan Murphy, Senior Programmer at Detective Pikachu-Development studio Creatures Inc., lists the sequel as an impending release. (In the meantime, however, the entry has been changed: Now it only says that the game is in development.) In the same breath, an as yet unannounced project is mentioned in which Murphy is also involved.
When will we actually finally get more details Detective Pikachu 2 for Nintendo Switch remains to be seen. Still, it’s gratifying for fans to get at least one sEsports Extrasof life from the game after three years.
