In a live stream, Blizzard explained exactly what to expect in Diablo 4 Season 1. So that you are up to date, we have summarized everything that is important for you, from the release to the biggest innovations.
When does Diablo 4 season 1 start?

How long does a season last? Blizzard had previously stated that a season in Diablo 4 lasted three months. That’s how long you have to level up the Battle Pass and collect all the rewards.

The big innovations of Season 1
- Surname: Season of the Malignant
- timeline: Plays after Diablo 4 events.
- New main character: Cormond, ex-member of the Cathedral of Light
- Story: New plague (The Malignant) has infested the entire continent
- Season trip: Divided into 7 chapters in which you complete various tasks and which should present you with a great challenge towards the end. Before you start the journey, you have to complete the story once. If you have already done this during the pre-season, you can start right away.
- New equipment: 6 new unique and 7 new legendary items
New gameplay mechanic: The Twisted Hearts (Malignant Hearts)
Enemies drop Corrupted Hearts upon death. If you don’t eliminate the hearts fast enough, stronger enemies will appear (The Malignants) which drop a new resource similar to Gems upon death. You can pack the new resource into your equipment and, according to Blizzard, make the strongest builds of the Diablo 4 era so far.
The further you progress in the game, climbing up the world levels, the better versions of the Twisted Hearts you get.
New dungeon type: In the Malignant Tunnels you can go in search of the new resource, which comes in different colors that match specific armor sockets. Also it will be in the tunnels a new boss give, Varshan the Consumed called.
Important information about the Battle Pass
According to Blizzard you can unlock the use cosmetic items for all classes. Whether you are a druid, sorceress or, for example, a necromancer, you will be rewarded at every (free and paid) level.

New patch and hotfix for Diablo 4 announced
Blizzard has also announced a new patch for Diablo 4 on July 18th appears cross-platform. In a few hours, a hotfix will also be rolled out that is supposed to fix some bugs.

Eternal Realm updates coming July 18th
At the start of Season 1, as described above, there will also be new Legendaries that are already two days before the start of the season available via patch in the Eternal Realm. So the place where your old characters are, which you can of course still play.

Finally, it should not go unmentioned that the rumors about a new class for Diablo Immortal have come true. The mobile offshoot for iOS and Android is therefore around the BloodKnight expanded, which comes into play for free.
