Do you remember Project Q? Me neither, but Ubisoft has wiped the PvP shooter off the map, according to Insider Gaming
My mind had completely erased the existence of Project Q and perhaps the fault is the fact that we have not had news of the PvP shooter from Ubisoft. Or perhaps it is that the battle arena proposals are not my thing, but the truth is that we will no longer see the result of the project anywhere.
At least that is what Tom Henderson maintains from Insider Gaming. According to his sources, the work has been canceled despite the fact that several internal tests were scheduled for this first half of the year. Keep in mind that Ubisoft is in a delicate situation after canceling three unannounced games, even though Project Q was revealed last year.
Although the experience that was sought was different, from the medium they have been able to see different images of a game mode called Showdown that it seemed to fit the mechanics of a battle royale. In view of the business decision, the title’s testers Discord channel has received the following message shared by Henderson:
Hello everyone
We hope you are all well and safe. We want to start by saying how amazing this band has been since we started. We have shared so many great moments and appreciate the relationships we have built with all of you. We have experienced so many incredible moments together that will remain in our memories.
The first test behind closed doors was a huge milestone for us because of all the work done by the team, your incredible support and your great reception. We loved the incredible energy that was breathed in this Discord, it was our fuel for the project. Your feedback has been a real gift and has allowed us to grow as developers to do our best for you, our players.
All these warm moments make this announcement more difficult to make: unfortunately we have to cancel our upcoming closed tests as Project Q will no longer continue development. This also means that we will have to shut down this Discord server.
We have no further information to share right now, but we want to thank all of you for your passion and love for Project Q. All of your messages and support have meant the world to us and have been a huge boost to our teams from the very beginning.
In the next few days we will close this Discord server. But until then, please share your most memorable memories and moments with us and we will be happy to pass the messages on to the team. It was an incredible trip for us and we will keep an incredible memory of it.
We wish you all the best for the future.
Our warmest regards,
The Project Q development team
However, not only bad news appears around Ubisoft. The French company has announced that a Rainbow Six movie is underway, at the same time that it has revealed that Anno 1800 will make the final leap to consoles.
