EA announces cuts for 6 percent of its employees

Such as Microsoft, Riot Games, Hangar 13, among other companies, AE has announced that it will restructure its workforce. According to the announcement on the company’s website as part of a letter to staff, the restructuring will affect 6% of EA’s workforce, which totals approximately 750+ jobs.

“As we drive increased focus across our portfolio, we are moving away from projects that do not contribute to our strategy, reviewing our real estate footprint and restructuring some of our teams. These decisions are expected to affect approximately six percent of our company’s workforce.”

According to Wilson, the company hopes to transition as many affected employees as it can to other roles at the company. Those who are laid off, however, have been promised severance pay, as well as benefits such as healthcare and career transition services.

“Communication of these decisions began earlier this quarter, and we expect them to continue through early next fiscal year.”

EA’s next major release will be Star Wars Jedi: Survivor from Respawn, which is scheduled to launch on April 28 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
