Elden Ring: announce the DLC ‘Shadow of the Golden Tree’ (Shadow of the Erdtree)

For a few weeks we were aware that FromSoftware would not take long to announce a big news related to what many consider the best game of 2022. Fans expected a big announcement during the past State of Play, but instead we had a humble social media announcement on the morning of Tuesday, February 28. It’s official: the first great DLC or expansion of Elden Ring Will be called ‘Shadow of the Erdtree‘, which in USAcould be known as ‘Shadow of the Golden Tree‘.

The announcement posted on Twitter reads: Rise, Lightless, and let us walk a new path together. The next expansion of Elden Ring ‘Shadow of the Golden Tree‘ (Shadow of the Erdtree) is currently under development. We hope you are looking forward to new adventures in the Middle Lands.”.

The post is accompanied by an image of the Golden Tree, or Erdtree, consumed by darkness, and an apparently female figure on a steed—believed by some to be Miquela—watches from a field surrounded by spectral figures.

At the time of writing, FromSoftware has not said anything about a possible release date for this long-awaited expansion. However, everything indicates that it should arrive this year.
