Epic Games has dealt a heavy blow to Steam. At least that’s how it can be understood after the company behind Unreal Engine and Fortnite —among other things—has presented its program Epic First Run. As they have collected on their official website, developers who produce a game for their platform will be able to get 100% of the income during the first six months of exclusivity.

After those six months, the devs may continue to benefit from the 88-12 distribution system. Through this, the creators of these titles they will keep 88% of the profits. However, not everyone will be able to participate in this program, since certain requirements will have to be met.

For starters, to be part of the Epic First Run program, the game or app will need to be new to the platform and not previously available on another third-party PC store or any subscription service available for PC. That is it has to be released exclusively for your store.
