Summer, and June in particular, is known for numerous gaming events from major publishers such as Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, which have been a replacement for E3 for a few years. This will also be the case in 2023, after what was once the most important trade fair for video games was canceled again.

So that you always have an eye on which live shows you can look forward to, we summarize everything important here in the article. Since further events and games shown are constantly being announced, we always keep the overview up to date.

Summer Game Fest


  • Date: 08 June

This is shown: First held in 2020, Summer Game Fest returns in 2023 hosted by host Geoff Keighley.

It is still unclear which games will be shown at the live event. However, due to Keighley’s very good relationships with developer FromSoftware, it’s entirely possible that we’ll learn more about the Shadow of the Erdtree Elden Ring expansion.

Devolver Direct

As part of the Summer Game Fest on June 8th there will also be a live show by publisher Devolver Digital (via Twitter), which you should definitely make a note of if you like creative and humorous presentations.

Xbox/Bethesda Showcase

This is shown: Microsoft has so far leaked that a lot of new information about Starfield will be revealed during a separate direct following the showcase. It is extremely likely that we will also find out the exact release of Forza Motorsport, which is scheduled for release in 2023, along with many other upcoming games for Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

DigitalWeek

The Digital Week was originally supposed to on June 11th take place as part of E3. It is still unclear to what extent the following planned live shows will be affected by the cancellation.

Ubisoft Forward


  • Date: 12th of June

This is shown: The Ubisoft Forward was only announced at the end of March and it is currently still unclear which games will be shown. There’s a good chance we’ll learn more about Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, The Crew: Motorfest, and Skull & Bones, all of which are slated for release in 2023.

Gamescom/Opening Night Live

This is shown: There will be new information throughout gamescom week, but expect a slew of announcements during Opening Night Live, also hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Information on the State of Play from Sony and Nintendo Direct

Both Sony and Nintendo announced their absence early on at E3. However, it’s very likely that we can expect another State of Play this summer with games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 due out in 2023 and a big Nintendo Direct. As soon as we get new information here, we will update the article.
