The CEO of Rockfish Games mentioned the importance of the service, calling it “the best in the industry.”

Everspace 2 is already very close to its launch on Xbox Series X/S, with just over a month to go, and the game’s debut on Xbox Game Pass seems to have contributed a lot to the success of the game on other platforms, despite the criticism that Microsoft’s subscription service has been received mainly by Sony executives.
The benefits of the title in Game Pass were commented by Michael Schade himself, CEO of Rockfish Games, in the Xbox Expansion podcast, where he also indicated that the development time was favored thanks to the service.

Schade’s statements were very clear:
“We could have developed the game without Xbox Game Pass, but it would have been a smaller title. If we take into account all the profits we received (from the Game Pass agreement) we were able to work nine to twelve more months on the game.”
Regarding PC, the executive confirmed that the inclusion of the title in PC Game Pass did not affect sales on Steam, and even called the service “one of the best, or maybe THE best, in the industry.” The game is already available on PC and will arrive on Xbox Series X/S on August 15.
