Explore Skyrim with others – Long-awaited mod coming this week

You may have heard of the Skyrim Together co-op mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

It’s been in the works for a long time, after several setbacks, it basically started from scratch in 2019. Today the mod is called Skyrim Together Reborn and you can play it starting this week!

This Friday, July 8, 2022, Skyrim Together Reborn is scheduled to be released at 6 p.m. German time. The video below shows you some excerpts from it, quest progress will be carried over for all participants.

PvP will also be possible with a small change in the settings.

However, keep in mind that Skyrim Together Reborn only works with specific versions of the Bethesda RPG. The mod works with the Special Edition 1.6 or the Game Pass version, Skyrim VR is not supported.

“The development of multiplayer games is very difficult,” it says. “Turning a single player game into a multiplayer game without source code is almost impossible, especially with a development team made up of a handful of students doing it for free in their free time.”

“Please keep this in mind when playing Reborn. The mod will not be perfect. It will occasionally crash, some quests will break, there will be bugs. This is not fixable. That’s just the reality of developing a multiplayer mod , instead of having a big studio like Bethesda develop a multiplayer game.”

In the future, the team also wants to make Fallout 4 playable cooperatively.
