Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most beloved games of all time, and many gamers were surprised that Rockstar never released an enhanced version of this game on PS5 and Xbox Series.

Instead, Rockstar focused all of its resources on GTA 6, which is scheduled for release in fall 2025.

But according to Tez2, a leaker who has often correctly revealed information about Rockstar’s plans, the company has not forgotten RDR2 and plans to work on a next-gen edition once GTA 6 is released.

He also said that Grand Theft Auto 6 will include all of the improvements originally planned for RDR2 on the PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, and that some of these features may return to their original target.

So after the release of GTA 6, Rockstar could turn around and incorporate some of these improvements into RDR2 on current consoles. Rockstar Editor is an example of this“, he added.

Referring to an earlier report from Jason Schreier about GTA 6 expanding over time, the leaker recalled that Rockstar canceled plans for GTA 5 and RDR2, the latter of which was originally supposed to include an expansion to Mexico.

However, as with all leaks and rumors surrounding Rockstar, take all this information with a grain of salt.
