505 Games 1

After selling the rights to Control to Remedy, 505 Games will close some of its offices in Europe. The information comes from Game Reactor, which points out that the company's headquarters in Germany, France and Spain will be closed. Digital Bros, which owns 505, has not yet commented on the case.

It is worth remembering that Digital Bros itself laid off around 30% of its team at the end of last year. The layoffs, at the time, affected offices in Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, China, Japan, Australia and Canada.

Over the past few years, 505 Games, Digital Bros' main studio, has worked on Control, Payday 2, Sniper Elite 3, Terraria, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons and Virginia. Right now, the company is developing Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

Remedy wants more opportunities for Control outside of 505 Games

Much of the motivation for this change between the two companies is due to the fact that Remedy wants better business opportunities for Control, one of its main franchises. Alan Wake is another series owned by the company. Click here to understand better.
