Assassin's Creed Codename RED should start a new era in the series

Assassin's Creed Codename Red could be a new milestone for the Ubisoft franchise – more or less as Origins represented in 2017. Someone who strongly believes in this possibility is journalist Tom Henderson, creator of the website Insider Gaming and one of the most reliable sources of behind-the-scenes news of the games industry.

The reporter guarantees that he has already watched gameplay videos of the title – under the condition of not publishing it – and explains that the first impressions are very positive. Especially because it has an improvement in the graphics engine, using the Anvil Pipeline, which is described by Henderson as an evolution of the Engine from previous games.

“Sources explained that Anvil Pipeline allows all of the diverse Assassin's Creed studios (of which there are many) to work from a single unified branch, rather than having different versions and branches. This means that, going forward, Assassin's Creed will benefit visually from ray-traced global illumination lines as well as virtual geometry.”he wrote.

According to him, the developers were able to revamp everything in the series, including animations, parkour system, dynamic weather and more. Combat in Assassin's Creed Codename Red, meanwhile, was described as “somewhat similar to Valhalla, but featuring much more gore, including blood and decapitations.”

Stealth mechanics, following the franchise's roots, also play an important role in Red, reminiscent of Splinter Cell. The player can extinguish torches, hide in tall grass and bushes, and even lie prone if they want.

Assassin's Creed Codename Red may have the first assassin in history

New information about Assassin's Creed Codename Red suggests that previous rumors have been well-founded. Ubisoft sources have confirmed the introduction of the African samurai Yasuke as the protagonist and the first assassin in history.

According to another article from Insider Gaming, the story of Yasuke, a samurai who existed in real life, will be adapted for the game franchise's models. In this plot, the warrior is a survivor of an attack on a slave ship where everyone, including his lover, was killed. Read more here.
