Baldur's Gate 3 players shocked by this NPC's “god-level” stat

Baldur's Gate 3 is full of NPCs, both good and bad, that you will encounter on your journey through the Sword Coast.

Most are obvious, like the villainous Orin the Red and the evil Raphael, whose stats and abilities lead to epic and difficult boss fights. However, there are some characters whose power may surprise you, including a merchant with a ridiculously high Constitution score.

Baldur's Gate 3 Players Confused by Felogyr's Fireworks Vendor's 30 CONs

As seen in a screenshot shared by Reddit user jayelled, Avery Sonshal from Felogyr's Fireworks in Baldur's Gate has a Constitution score that far exceeds what is normally possible.

The level 9 human merchant has a CON of 30. That is to say 10 points above the usual maximum of 20. This therefore leads the player to qualify the merchant's stat ” god level “.

The poster compared it to intentionally powerful creatures from Baldur's Gate 3 and Dungeons & Dragons. For example, the dragon Ansur has a CON score of 23. Without forgetting the final boss of Baldur's Gate 3 with its 22 CON.

In D&D terms, this random character has the same CON as a Tarrasque, which is generally considered the strongest and most dangerous creature in the entire game.

This leads players to wonder why developer Larian Studios would assign such a high CON score to a minor NPC in Baldur's Gate 3. Some have speculated about in-game reasons for the fireworks dealer's divine power. One player joked: “ every day he trains, exploding himself with bigger and bigger fireworks “.

Another commenter suggested a reason based on game mechanics. He explained: “ They knew the players would want to blow up the place and kill him instantly. So they made it a little special “. Since Constitution impacts your maximum life points, increasing the score to 30 would certainly make it more resilient.

However, since the rest of his stats are nothing to write home about, killing him is quick. Especially if you use its own goods.

It is also entirely possible that this is an oversight or error. Barring a future patch, this Baldur's Gate 3 mystery will likely remain unsolved.
