The remake of Resident Evil 2 reached record numbers for the franchise. As of July 2022, Capcom has registered more than 10 million units worldwide, but employees are still self-isolating because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Two years after the record, the studio decided to celebrate with a cupcake and a party with the developers.

Resident Evil 2 has sold over 10 million copies as of July 2021 and has currently sold over 13.9 million copies, the most in the series! On the date, we were at home and couldn’t celebrate, but we finally managed to celebrate. All of our team members are encouraged by the positive feedback we have received from everyone who has played!

Resident Evil 2 is five years old and is enjoying great success

Five years later, Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield’s adventure through a desolate Racoon City is consolidated in the gaming universe in all sectors. This is because, according to updated numbers, the remake is the best-selling game in the franchise’s history, with 13.1 million copies.

Furthermore, the game was almost unanimously praised, with its gameplay, visuals and character design aspects being among the most talked about topics. These positive reviews resulted in a 91-point rating on Metacritic, earning the “Must Play” seal.
