Crisis Core actor was reprimanded for having a 'sexy voice'

In an interview published on Square Enix's YouTube channel, actor Shaun Conde, who played Genesis in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion, revealed a curious detail about his experience with the character. According to him, the company gave him some scolding for having too much of a “sexy voice”.

According to him, the ear tugging came from voice director Kirk Thornton. Both in this game and in Shiba in NEO: The World Ends With You.

“A fun note, a little bonus, is with both characters I played. I received the comment several times that I was sounding too sensual, that I seemed to be seducing. There were some requests for me to slow down a little. Especially Genesis, because he's playful and he's a little flirty. Just a little,” he commented.
