Destiny and Halo composer becomes candidate in the USA

Published

on

After enjoying success with the Destiny and Halo soundtracks, composer Marty O'Donnell took a very unexpected turn in his career. No, he didn't leave Bungie to go to another studio or decide to venture into another area of the gaming industry. His next big project is to run for a seat in the United States Congress, representing the state of Nevada, for the Republican Party.

With a long post on the social network X, O'Donnell published the official website of his candidacy and spoke a little about what motivated him to make this move:

“I never wanted to be a politician and I still don’t. I've had two successful careers and started a few small businesses. I also worked for some large corporations. I was ready to retire and spend more time with my family – which I have been doing for the last 3 years. I think they're ready for me to find something else to do. I'm tired of our country's leaders being influenced by the toxic divisions that are tearing our families and society apart. It's time for me to step forward and do my civic duty. Contribute and try to change things for the better. If not me, who? If not now, when?”he wrote.

Elections for the Chamber are scheduled for November 5, 2024.
