Devs apologize for showing Dragon Quest 3 remake “too soon”

Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PS5, Xbox Series S|X and PC on November 14, 2024. The remake was announced on May 27, 2021, but, just three years after this reveal, Team Asano and Square Enix released the release date — and this upset the team.

Team Asano, led by Tomoya Asano, handles Bravely Default and Octopath Traveler. In partnership with Artdink, the team develops this project involving the Dragon Quest franchise.

Dragon Quest 3’s memorable locations and characters have been revived in an HD-2D art style, similar to that found in their previous collaboration, Triangle Strategy. However, players spent a long time without any news. There is a plausible explanation for this.
