The good news has arrived: the release date for season 14 of Doctor Who has finally been revealed. And the Doctor doesn't have long before he shows up!

The Time Lord is about to return in a new adventure, this time in the guise of Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education): Doctor Who had already offered glimpses of this new hero with the Christmas episodes, but it is especially season 14 that spectators are impatiently awaiting.

The BBC and Disney announced at the end of 2023 a partnership for the broadcast of the iconic series. Outside of England, it is Disney+ which will broadcast the next batch of episodes, renamed “Season 1“. And it won't be long before this new chapter invades our small screens.

Season 14 of Doctor Who be there soon

The TARDIS will land soon: Doctor Who returns on May 11, 2024, in a first episode broadcast at 1 a.m. on Disney+.

The streaming platform has indeed negotiated the exclusive broadcast of the British series, and announced its arrangement with the English channel BBC in October 2023. Already at the time, Russell T. Davies, the showrunner of the Doctor Who since 2005, had expressed his enthusiasm in the press release:

I love this series. This agreement is ideal, as the support of the BBC and Disney+ will allow us to both send our TARDISes, these extraordinary machines capable of traveling in time and space, to the four corners of the world, to reach a new generation of fans.

No detailed synopsis has been shared at this time, in an effort to avoid spoilers. But the series suggests that the Time Lord played by Ncuti Gatwa and his new friend, Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson), “will face new monsters as they embark on many out-of-this-world adventures in the TARDIS.

See you in May to find season 14 of Doctor Who !
