Still maintaining the feel of a classic JRPG, the title underwent changes to justify this relaunch. Even the narrative may have some “original” touches, but everything is under the supervision of Yuji Horii, screenwriter, designer and creator of the franchise. GamesTalk magazine brought other new details:

  • Akira Toriyama’s artistic style will be present, however, the artist, who passed away in 2024, had no direct involvement in the project;
  • There are graphics and performance mode options available to choose from on PS5 and Xbox Series;
  • The remake of Dragon Quest 3 will feature three difficulties and three battle speeds, making the gameplay even more dynamic;
  • With automatic battles and saves, the title will offer random encounters throughout the journey;
  • In addition to a new orchestral soundtrack, sound effects and voice acting were added to the remake;
  • The camera will be a little more dynamic in gameplay, changing angles as the focus of the turn is changed and zooming during exploration;
  • With improved navigation, the minimap has been modernized and will always be displayed on the screen;
