This statement left fans less agitated on social media. Many were hoping for a new chapter to explore in the RPG that won Game of the Year at The Game Awards in 2023. To calm things down, Vincke took to his social media and said the following:

Speaking of which – we're not done updating Baldur's Gate 3. There's still a bunch of stuff coming, like mod support and extra cinematics for some of the endings. There's just no new content.

As previously reported, Larian Studios is not only moving away from Baldur's Gate 3, but also from the D&D genre in general, with its next project set to be something entirely new. Something even contradictory, after Habro praised the studio's approach to the franchise.
