Final Fantasy XVI DLC, The Rising Tide arrives in April

The long-awaited expansion The Rising Tide finally has a date to arrive in Final Fantasy XVI. The DLC received, this Friday (22), a new trailer showing some of its attractions and also the exact day of its availability on PlayStation 5: April 18.

“The story of Final Fantasy XVI returns with new chapters! An unmarked letter arrives at the hideout containing a very curious request: the Dominant of Leviathan, the long-lost Eikon of Water, needs to be rescued. To answer this call, Clive and his companions must travel to Mysidia – a land hidden beneath a blue sky – where they will discover the tragic history of a forgotten people,” says the description.

The Rising Tide expansion arrives on April 18th, while Echoes of the Fallen has been available since the end of last year. The expansion pass with these two extra content can be purchased from the PS Store.

Final Fantasy XVI was released in June 2023, exclusively for PS5. A PC port, however, is in development, and a demo may be released on computers soon. Find out more by clicking here.

Final Fantasy XVI should not have new DLCs after The Rising Tide

FFVVI producer, Naoki Yoshida, gave an interview to Game Informer and was asked if there would be a possibility of the game receiving new expansions. “It’s a difficult question”, as the dev made a point of saying.
