A PC version of Final Fantasy XVI has been awaited by fans for some time, and it appears that it will still take a while for it to be released. However, everything is going according to plan, according to producer Naoki Yoshida, in an interview with Game Informer.

Launched about a year ago on PlayStation 5, the RPG is going through a period of optimization. However, there are still important adjustments to be made before committing to a market arrival date. According to him, mainly due to the specifications that would be necessary to run the game.

“In terms of where we currently are in development, we are trying to better understand what the final optimization steps will be now. When we can release the PC version may depend on this – the system requirements and PC specs that players will need, which is where we are working now to come up with the best solutions. Naturally, however, they seem to be somewhat high”, explained the developer, who also asked:

“In terms of when it will be released or when we can announce it, I would like to ask for more time on that.”

Final Fantasy XVI PC demo?

On the other hand, good news: a demo version of Final Fantasy XVI for PC could be released later this year. It would be a fundamental part of Square Enix's tests to confirm the ideal specifications for the computers that want to run the game.

“And to do this, we are planning to release a demo for the PC version as well. Again, we can't really say much in terms of details about when it will be released – I believe with a little more time we will be in a better position to announce things. But one thing is certain: It won't be too far in the future; It won’t be a year, it won’t be two years, it will probably be shorter than that, so stay tuned,” he added.
