Fortnite Recharge reintroduces iconic locations with an epic new mode

Epic Games took the entire community by surprise with the announcement of Fortnite Recharge, which promises to take players back to some of the iconic locations from the game’s early days, accompanied by a new quick-play mode.

In a recent teaser, the developers revealed a smaller map for this new game mode, hinting at a setting that Fortnite Chapter 1 veterans will find familiar.

The brief teaser showcases six classic Fortnite points of interest (POIs), including Tilted Towers, Lil’ Loot Lake, Retail Row, Lazy Laps, Pleasant Park And Sandy Sheets.

Epic Games described this new game mode, which is inspired by Resurgence from Call of Duty, as follows:

In this experience where you can choose whether or not to fill your section, aggression is perhaps the key when you know that automatic recovery awaits you. And if you’re the last member of your team alive, it’s best to keep a low profile and keep your eyes open since the future of your section depends on your survival! This is how it works:

  • When a player is eliminated, their individual recovery countdown begins. The player is automatically reinstated at the end of the countdown!
  • The recovery timer is 30 sec at the start of the game and can last up to 40 sec later in the game.
  • Team members still in play can reduce this recovery time by 2 seconds by knocking out an opponent, by 4 seconds by eliminating one, and by 10 seconds by getting rid of an opposing section.
  • When a player is knocked out, they can decide to start the recovery countdown immediately instead of waiting to be revived.
  • At the end of the game, recoveries are disabled, meaning eliminated team members cannot return.

On this map which will be much smaller than normal, there will be no vehicles, however you will find certain emblematic weapons of the game:

  • Revolver
  • Tactical shotgun
  • Lever Action Shotgun
  • Original Heavy Shotgun
  • Tactical submachine gun
  • Infantry rifle
  • Heavy Assault Rifle
  • Single Shot Sniper Rifle
  • Rocket launcher
  • Cramponeur

If you are impatient to discover this new mode, know that it will be playable from June 22, 2024 at 8 p.m. after the first Metallica concert.
