gamescom latam 2024 will have pitch space for investors



gamescom is arriving in Latin America with gamescom latam 2024. For the inaugural edition, the event teamed up with Abragames, the Brazilian Association of Digital Game Developers, and Brazil Games, to hold Pitch@gamescom latam. The pitch competition aims to present games from Latin American studios to investors and publishers.

Specialist and entrepreneur in the games industry, development of partnerships and organizer of the Pitch at GDC Play, Jason Della Rocca will present the selected games to a jury made up of publishers and investors. At least five studios will be chosen to make the pitch and will have five minutes on stage to convince the jury to invest in the project presented.

The winner of Pitch@gamescom latam powered by Abragames/Brazil Games will receive a trophy and, for the 2025 edition, the winner will also receive a Business credential and guaranteed space in the Brazilian panorama or in the indie area.

Requirements to participate in the pitch at gamescom can 2024

Registration to participate in the pitch is now available and can be done through the official gamescom latam website, until May 5th. The rules for entering the competition are:

  • Only projects from Latin America will be accepted
  • The pitch and project must be sent in English
  • A legally registered company or studio is required to sign up
  • Finalists must attend the event to present their pitch on June 28th
  • The game must not have already been released publicly
  • The project must have PC and/or console as main platforms
  • The game cannot be free-to-play; must have a selling price for the consumer
  • The purpose of the pitch is to reach a publishing deal from investors or publishers
  • The pitch must be an original game (tools, technology, services, etc. will not be accepted)

For Gustavo Steinberg, CEO of gamescom latam and BIG Festival, the pitch is an opportunity for all studios in Latin America. “Following the tradition we started at the BIG Festival, the pitch is a moment that allows studios to seek investors and connect their games with the rest of the world, thus further consolidating the games market in Latin America.”

For Eliana Russi, operations director at Abragames, it is very important for the association to lead initiatives like this, which is an opportunity for studios to present their projects to publishers, investors and the general public. “Abragames’ objective is to support actions that promote the growth of developers and industry in Brazil.”

gamescom latam 2024 takes place from June 26th to 30th, at São Paulo Expo and tickets are now available on the event's official website.
