Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuji could have formed a fun duo with this character according to fans

Fans think Yuji Itadori and Yuki Tsukumo could have made a fun duo, and that Jujutsu Kaisen missed a great opportunity by not exploring this path.

Jujutsu Kaisen takes place in a dark and cruel world, in which death is part of the daily life of the protagonists. Yet some have managed to find true friendship amidst all this darkness. The hero Yuji Itadori’s antics with his classmates Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki are probably one of the most telling examples, as is the unbreakable bond between Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto discovered in the Gojo’s Past arc.

However, some believe that mangaka Gege Akutami missed great opportunities in his work. The story features characters with similar personalities whose dynamics would have undoubtedly created lighter moments in the narrative.

A failed friendship, according to fans, is that between Yuji and Yuki Tsukumothe S-class exorcist. Both are loud, hyperactive, and friendly, with particular ambitions to protect people and do what is right.

And the fact is that the two characters could have gotten closer at certain points in the plot. Because as a reminder, Yuji became friends with Yuki’s protégé, Aoi Todo, which is why he could have developed a relationship with the powerful S-class exorcist. The two also met briefly towards the end of the Shibuya drama.

However, their interactions in the story unfortunately didn’t go any further. After that, things got too serious, with Yuta trying to kill Yuji and Yuki dealing with the chaos Kenjaku caused in Shibuya. Even after the immediate threats were eliminated, they both had different roles to fill and never had the opportunity to interact again.

Yuki was ultimately killed by Kenjaku during the Murderous Hunt Arc, ending her journey in the story. Which left fans disappointed with this hypothetical situation between Yuji and Yuki. For example, an Internet user declared on this subject on X/Twitter: “Yuki, Yuji and Todo fighting would have been HUGE.”

Another added: “She could have had such a cool teacher-student dynamic with Yuji, I’m afraid.” A third pointed out Yuki’s potential romance angle with Choso and commented: “They were both so close to Todo and Choso. WE COULD HAVE HAD A FAMILY.

Now that Yuki is dead, there’s nothing more that can be done about it. But let’s hope that Yuji’s few remaining friends survive Sukuna’s carnage by the end of the Battle of Shinjuku Arc.
