MCU: Daredevil Born Again officially linked to the Netflix series, fans want the return of another character

The next Marvel series centered on the famous demon of Hell’s Kitchen will indeed be connected to the original Netflix series, but fans now seem to be expecting something else from Daredevil: Born Again.

Remember when Netflix released its own Marvel series? Although they have since been integrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist first made names for themselves in their own dedicated series.

Now, Daredevil has officially joined the ranks of Marvel Studios, since the blind superhero will be entitled to a new series on Disney+. A new series where we can notably find Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio, the two actors having recently confirmed that Daredevil: Born Again will tie directly into the original Netflix series, which debuted in 2015.

However, instead of getting fans hyped for the next upcoming series, the news has seemingly sparked another unexpected reaction. Indeed, many of them now want another superhero from this universe to also join the MCU, and that is Jessica Jones.

The Defenders in the Netflix series

“I want this to succeed mainly so they bring back Jessica Jones too”posted a fan on Reddit. “Somehow I need more David Tennant”agreed a second.

“I wasn’t the biggest fan of JJ after season 1, but they really nailed the casting for her, Luke Cage and DD (edit: and Punisher!)”added a third. “It would be such a waste if they didn’t bring Krysten back somehow. Her toxic chemistry with Kilgrave was so great, but even after he left, she did really well despite some dips in writing quality.”

The 2015 series with Krysten Ritter in the title role ended in 2019 after three seasons. However, given that all four of Netflix’s heroes came together to form The Defenders, with several minor characters also appearing in multiple series, there’s no reason why Jessica couldn’t theoretically return as well.

D’Onofrio confirmed via Collider : “There’s one big thing that’s already known about the show that I can say is that it’s connected to the Netflix series. And no one is clear about that, be clear about that. It’s definitely connected to that.”

How these two series will be connected is still a mystery at this point. The production of Daredevil: Born Again has been incredibly chaotic, with numerous delays after Disney announced a “creative overhaul.” The original production team has left the project, so no one knows what might happen.

“I don’t think it will have the same level of quality, but I’m still going to watch it. Let’s hope for the best,” added a fan. Another said: “I just hope it’s not shit. That’s really all I want.”

There is currently no confirmation that Ritter will make her return to the MCU, but many fans still seem to hold out hope that they will see her alongside the “Man Without Fear” in the near future.
