No Man's Sky patch 4.25 eliminates progression lock

Hello Games has released a new patch for No Man's Sky and, apparently, the community has given the studio a lot of feedback. After updating the Omega expansion and the free period, a selection of flaws, including one capable of preventing the season from completing, were identified and the update attempted to correct several of them.

The patch notes can be found on the title's official website, but we've brought them all for you. See below:

  • Fixed an issue that blocked completing a season.
  • Allow game saves that start in Season mode to transition to Normal mode without needing to complete optional milestones.
  • Fixed an issue that caused customization parts to be incorrectly sorted.
  • Fixed an issue with customizations when switching between one season and another.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a player-owned pirate cruiser to shoot at the player.
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the player to destroy a player-owned pirate cruiser.
  • Fixed an issue that could result in a player-owned pirate cruiser fragmenting and duplicating itself multiple times.
  • Fixed an issue where the hangar of a player-owned pirate cruiser could look like that of a normal freighter.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause pirate cruisers to explode upon spawning.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent some pre-existing saves from being used in multiplayer.
  • Fixed a rare issue when trying to locate an Autophage camp with the Scan Harmoniser while in an empty system.
  • Promoted usable features to the top of the list when selecting items into actionable deployments.
  • Fixed an issue with Atlas station audio.
  • Fixed an issue that caused combat music to play when jellyfish spawned.
  • Updated the OpenVR version.
  • Fixed a memory-related crash.
  • Fixed a crash related to settlements.
  • Fixed a crash related to frigates.
  • Fixed a crash in multiplayer mode.
  • Fixed a crash on PC.
  • Fixed a crash in weather effects.
  • Fixed a crash on Xbox.

More No Man's Sky free periods could come in 2024

Having released No Man's Sky: Omega with a free period apparently did good for Hello Games and the studio assured that it will do this again in the coming months in 2024. Check out more details here!
